corn per hand and tend and cultivate it well and to work the farm to the best advantage for its preservation and to prevent its washing. I D.J. Newbern Employer bind myself to furnish the undersigned employees supplies of all kind that they may want at the neighborhood market price they paying me six percent Int on the purchase money till paid day when the crop is ready for market and I retaining a lien on the employees crop till all claims or dues against them are satisfied that they may owe me. In testimony whereof we Employer and Employees affix our hand in the presence of these witnesses, the 30th day of December 1865. This contract for year 1866
