Know all men by These Presents That I Moses Campbell of the one part and Claiborne Patton (Col Man) of the other part agree to the following obligation to wit.
The consideration of the above is such that the said Moses Campbell has hired the said Clayborn Patton (Col Man) for the present year 1866  Patton (Col.) and binds himself to give the said Clayborn one third of what he Claiborne Patton culivates in corn and cotton oats and furnish him in provisions
The said Clayborn Patton (Col Man) binds himself to do good work at all necessary repairs on the plantation for the present year 1866 for the amount above named and is [[strikethrough]] clothes [[/strikethrough]] to furnish his own clothing and pay his own medical Bill and to work by said Campbell orders whereas we have hereunto set our hands an seal day and date above written
