Know all Men by These Presents, THAT I E G Coleman of the County of Hardeman, State of Tennessee, am held and firmly bound to the United States of America in the sum of one third of the cotton corn & fodder dollars, for the payment of which I bind my heirs, executors and administrators, firmly, by these presents, in this CONTRACT. That I am to furnish the persons, whose names are subjoined, (freed laborers,) Quarters, Fuel, substantial and healthy Rations, [[strikethrough]] all necessary Medical Attendance and ,[[/strikethrough]], and the amount set opposite their respective names per month, during the continuation of this Contract-the laborers to be paid in full before the final disposal of the crop which is raised by them on ... plantation, in the County of Hardeman, State of Tennessee.

The conditions of the above of the rations as as follows, Frank is to work on the farm and to receive one third of his distributive share of the cotton & corn & fodder as raised by him and other hands engaged in raising a crop with him his wife Aideline is to receive eight dollars and 25/00 cents per month and is to do house work such as milking the cows, spinning, cooking, washing, work in the garden and do any other work she may be ordered to do on & about the house and lose all the time she may be unable to work and both are to be subject to my orders and obey me & the crop is to gathered and Adeline is to receive her pay at the end of the year 1866

This contract is to commence with this date and close with the year 1866.
