This the 1st Day of Jan 1866

Articles of agreement made & entered into between Wm Murphy on the one part, and Mike Hall & family (colored) of the other part
Said Murphy is to give Mike one hundred & thirty dollars, his two oldest daughters, (Mary & Hulda) fifty dollars each - his two younger daughters twenty five each viz. ( George Ann & Dolly) and gives Mikes wife, (Francis) & her three youngest children their victuals & clothes for Francis labor, as Wm Murphy is to furnish Mike, his wife & seven children, with meat & bread - and three suits of clothes such as he has been in the habit of giving colored people. The provisions to be given in the same way as given to others on the place. Mike is to pay their own Dr bill. They are to do good & faithful work on Wm Murphy' farm & be subject to Wm Murphy & N. Hilliard orders.
