Hardeman County Agreement made and entered State of Tennessee into between Milas Polk and his Mother Susan (both Cold) and J.S. McAnulty Mitnebeth that the said Milas agreed and binds himself to work well and faithfully in the farm or else where & obey all orders issued by said McAnully during the year 1866 all time lost unnecessarily to be deducted from his wages at the rates at which I am to pay him. She said Susan agrees to cook work from Mick & all work necessary about the house during the year 1866 all time lost unnecessarily to be deducted from his wages at the rates at which I am to pay him. She said Susan agrees to cook wash from Mick & all work necessary about the house during the year 1866 and obey all orders issued by said McAnulty The said J.S. McAnulty agrees and binds himself to furnish to the said parties of the second part good and wholesome food and pay them one hundred & fifty dollars in currency on the 1st day of January 1867.
