This Indenture made and entered into between Edw'd Oswald of the one part and the freed Persons whose names are herto annexed Witnesseth that the said Edward Oswald agrees to pay the sum of money and articles placed opposite the names of each to furnish quarters to live in & the freed persons whose names appear whom bind themselves to the faithfull performance of any & all work that may be required of them by the Said Edward Oswald or his agent. at such times or in such manner as he may direct governed at all times by such rules of justice & good conduct as he may require All necessary plantation and house work to be done on Sunday &c by each in rotation. to allow no assemblages of freed persons about their quarters  
This Contract to begin this Day & to close with the end of the year. The Rules recommended by the agnt of the freedmen Bureau at Clarksville to be adopted as rules for the plantation
