Contract between W F Hancock (employer and Emily Avent (Employee)
W. F Hancock agrees to pay Emily Avent seven (7) dollars per month for her services To furnish Rations Quarters &c for her and her two children and to let her have one half of every saturday. but she is to attend to her regular business about the house on the saturday evenings
Emily Avent agrees to do any kind of work about the house, Garden, Kitchen or any thing else (except working in the farm) that she is called upon to do. To rise early and attend strictly to any kind of business she has to do. Not to absent herself from the plan without permission. and to conform to all other regulations. To furnish clothing and medical attention for herself and children and to pay all other expenses. To [[strikethrough]] loss [[/strikethrough]] loose seventy five cents per day for any lost time. And in case she quits working for her employer or he discharges her for not complying with this contract to loose all pay for her services up to the time of discharge, this July 8th 1866
