Know all men by these present that I James Blair of the county of Madison and State of Tennessee have this the first day of January 1866 Bargained with Isaac a Freedman to cultivate a crop on my farm I agree to furnish one hand and mule as good as him self and mule The hand I furnish is a freedman by the name of Ben about 16 years old. I agree to giv said boy one hundred Dollars for his years work. I also feed and clothe him. he agrees to faithfuly [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikeththrough]] perform his duty as a hirelan.
I further agree to furnis said Isaac with all nessary implements of husbandry to enable him to mak and gather crop I further agree to feed him and give him comfertable quarters also to furnish him with one par corse Boots

The said freedman Isaac agrees on his part to faithfuly perform his duty and furnish one mule to help mak crop als to clothe him self and feed his mule from first september to last of year he further agrees to help Doo all kinds of work that is nesary to be done on the farm so it dus not interfere with making crop and pay his own Doctors Bill and after the crop has bin made and gathered the said Isaac is to Receive one sixth of said crop for his labor giving the employer the Refusel of corn crop when sold.
