[[left margin]] [[??]] [[/left margin]] Mr. William Fire Thunder stated: "We must keep in mind those two important facts -- get behind this 100%, put more pressure to bear and get the people in Congress to recognize our situation and permit the appropriation of funds necessary for the maintenance of this Commission, and in doing that to also recommend to the Congress and to the President of the United States and the Secretary of the Interior our preference of the Indian who shall be our representative on this Indian Claims Commission." Jess Rowledge, a member of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Council, reported his tribal council had already sent a resolution to the President of the United States and to the Indian Office recommending the name of N.B. Johnson as a member of the Claims Commission, and that of Felix Cohen as a second member. Mrs. Lorena Burgess reported that the Indians of norther n Montana had gone on record as favoring the name of N.B. Johnson as a member of the Claims Commission. SPECIAL PROBLEMS Dan Morrison, representing the Wisconsin Indians stated they were not getting proper revenue from the sale of timber on their reservation. Another reported that the Chippewas of lower Michigan do not have a tribal attorne y and that some of their claims have been on file for 150 years. He wants help from the Indian Office in getting an attorney to push their claims. Another report was that the Indian boys and girls are not getting a fair deal through the G.I. Bill of Rights.
