NARA 799 I did not have eny money to spare. he came back They stole 2 twenty Dol gold Peaces $40 in gold the six day of Aprill I hide The Partys left the hous They got some 2 100 yards from the house I run out found my gold stolen I started after them I grabed one of the Negrows & tride to Ring the 2 twenty dolar gold peaces out of his hands. I got hold of one edge of the peaces & they saw I liking to get it a way & Eaton mills drew a pistol on me & threatened my life They threatened to kill all god damn yankees They got a way from me & run up the Rale Roaide & met old Dr Davis of this place he told them to keep it & not let the dam yankees have it They went on up the Road I heard old Davis say this to them & a lot of outlaws which got wind of it & all told the doctor, all wright we got no law here Keep the Gold we are glad of it [[note]] June 14 1887 Dr W.M Raines [[/note]]
