Major,
I have, this moment received your note informing me that Cato Sherard has made complaint at your office, that his daughter Milly Sherard, was, on yesterday, arrested for trespass, tried before me & by me sent to jail &c.
In compliance with your request I send you a statement of the facts in the case.
Yesterday afternoon, I was called upon by S.W. John Esq to try a warrant against Milly Sherard - charging her with trespassing upon the premises of Mrs B.M. John. The witnesses, (two colored persons)
