Your lettet was greatly appreciated. Ellen Wheat's thesis is going well and we both thank you and th Archives for your support. Thanking you again for your support in general and for the Archives contribution in particular, I am, Sincerely, Jacob Lawrence P.S. Several years ago I requested that Syracuse University forward all of my material to the Archives of American Art. This material is dated from the late 1930's. I do appreciate the fact that such a prestigious institution as Syracuse has this material . I do feel however, that for the purpose of research, it would be more practical if all of this material pertaining to me was all assembled in one place. I do no know if anything can be done about transferal of this material. I thought however that I would give you my thinking on this matter.
