Dear Mr. Lawrence:

The National Gallery of Art has always participated in a color reproduction program which enables students, scholars, and general art lovers to enrich their visual memory of the masterpieces in our permanent collection. One important segment of our program is our postcard reproduction selection. These postcards are predominately used by educational institutions and individual students. However, we also offer them for sale to our visiting public for their enjoyment. To augment our twentieth-century selection of postcards we feel that it is important to include your work Daybreak -- A Time to Rest.

A commercial publisher and distributor, Pomegranate Publications, 975 Transport Way, Petaluma, CA 94952, will produce the postcard reproduction. Please be assured that we will review and approve all stages of the production process. Your work will be produced in its entirety (neither cropped nor altered in any way). Also, all proper credit and caption information will be appropriately provided on the postcard reproduction.

Once Pomegranate has completed the project, we will be able to purchase a portion of their stock thus enabling the National Gallery of Art to offer your work in postcard format.

If you agree to Pomegranate Publications reproducing your work in the postcard format, please sign one copy of this letter in the space provided below and use the enclosed Federal Express label for your reply. We would like to begin working on this project with Pomegranate as soon as possible.
