Your are desired to make answer as accurately as possible to the following questions and forward the same to the Supt of Education at this Office on or before the 30th July next
1st  How many schools, Day and Night, are at present organized, and in operation in your District.
2nd   How many additional schools are needed and at what points.
3rd  How many colored children are there in your district between the ages of 6 and 18 to be educated.
4th  How many central points are there where schools might be organized and what their names.
5th  How many teachers will be needed to supply your district for the coming year.
6th  What amount of salary should be paid teachers as a reasonable compensation.
7th  Are there any places in your district where Northern teachers could safely be employed and sustained by tuition fees. If so, how many

and what number of pupils in each.
8th  Are there any teachers engaged for the coming year in your district. If so, what their names, by whom employed, and where will they labor.
9th  What amount of tuition, if any, will the colored people by able to pay, and what their ability in this regard compared with the same last year.  
10th  What number of school houses in your district. How many more will be needed by the first of October, and at what points.
11th  Can buildings suitable for school purposes be rented.
12th  What efforts are being make by the colored people to erect school houses and organize schools.
13th  Are the colored people able to conduct and sustain the work of education among themselves without further aid.
14th  By what means can new schools be organized and set in operation throughout your district.
15th  What Benevolent Association and F.A. Societies are at work in your district and at what points.
16th  Answer fully and promptly as possible and add any suggestions that may occur to you as to how the work of education may be most successfully carried out in your district during the coming year.
