Rev. Dr. Rust
Sec. F. A. Soc. of M.E. Church
Dear Sir

A Bill passed the Legislature of Alabama on yesterday appropriating $200,000 for educational purposes in Alabama during the current year commencing with Oct 18th 1868. The state had agreed according to my circular sent you some time since, to pay teachers sent by associations the same compensation allowed other teachers in the state. The monthly salary to be determined by the trustees or the board of directors.
I hope, therefore, you will send teachers to Huntsville immediately. Miss Henderson writes me that she is anxious to return to the work at that place. Will you employ her and also Miss Lakin? Can you not occupy some other points in the state? We are anxious to have the schools opened at once. Mr. A. W. McCullough as Superintendent for Madison Co. Ala. Please let me hear from you soon. Miss Henderson wrote me a few days since from Coal Bluffs Ala
Yours truly
