Rev E. M. Cravath

Dear Sir
I wrote you a few days since by order of Mr. Lofton to send us five teachers for the schools in Montgomery. Mr. Lofton called today & demands me to ask for two more and suggests that two male teachers would be preferable as the distance from some of the schools and the House is great. For other reasons he decided that two of the eight teachers should be gentlemen. Please send them as soon as possible. We have given notice of the opening of the schools on Monday next. Mr. Pope's wife has arrived. The new building is progressing rapidly. We have rented rooms for temporary use until the new building is completed. Afterwards they will be used probably for primary schools.

Capt. Bush is sick, but as soon as he is able to give it attention the lease will be forwarded.

I gave you the names of two young men at Cedarville, Ohio, who desire to teach in Ala.

Send us teachers soon.

Yours Truly,
R. D. Harper
Sup'. of Education.
