Dear Sir: 
[[illegible]] I can only understand part. If you organize schools for the freedmen the Bureau will pay rent for school building at rate of [[10 or 12$]] per month for every 45 pupils in attendance. If you buy a least one school building for the freedmen the Bureau will probably [[?]] to the amount of a few hundred dollars in [[illegible]] make a clear statement of the costs, charging to rent of the colored people in the matter of education, [[?]] either for a certain amount of rent, or for a certain amount of money to aid in the purchase or sureties of a school building 
Send your application to [[illegible]] Sub. Assistant Commissioner B.R.F. & A.L., Demopolis Ala [[illegible]] to forward to you. Ask that the Bureau [[illegible]] by paying rent or assist or donate [[illegible]] I will refer to Mr. R.S. Rust, State Superintendent of Education. [[illegible]] and with needed information.
