Dear Sir
In answer to yours of the 20th addressed to D C Rugg Huntsville, I will state that in order to obtain assistance from the Govt in building school houses in your Co. it will be necessary in each case to furnish copy of deed of lot and a clause required in your deed that it shall be held for school purposes only (regardless of [[illegible]]) I think it would be much better to have the colored people meet and put up a log school house that will answer the purpose, purchasing lumber enough for flooring seats, doors &c nails and or furniture, and then apply for rent [[?]] per month from the F Bureau and supply the rent hoping for such lumber &c
