200 Children are now being taught without a house to shelter them. The colored people at this place have raised some $300. for the purchase of a lot, and we trust that the Govt will encourage them by granting the aid desired in the erection of a house It affords us pleasure to report that the freedpeople of Montgomery have raised some $750.00 and have purchased a beautiful lot of 3½ acres on which to erect a building for educational purposes. The deed for this ground is now ready. We have applied for an architect for plans and specifications which we expect to receive in a few days and with the appropriation of $10,000 already made for this purpose we hope to go forward immediately in the erection of the building and have it ready for occupancy by the 1st of October next
