I have the honor to submit the following Report of my action in executing Special Order No. 10, Head quarters sub-District of Alabama, Montgomery, Ala. Jan'y 29th 1867.

Tuskegee
At this place Mr. J.F. Brown has a school of an average daily attendance of over sixty-five pupils. It has been in operation since March last, but under the charge of the present teacher since July only. I was informed that the pupils are usually regular in their attendance, and manifest an increased interest in their school. Some were pointed out to me who live four miles from the school, and who walk that distance daily, to avail themselves of its privileges. I spent an entire day in the school room, reviewing the pupils and conducting the recitations for the most
