The school house at this place, owned by J.P. Felty, I re-rented for the ensuing year, at a reduction, however, of one quarter upon last year's rates. The present price is twelve dollars and a half per month. The colored congregation of the M.E. Zion Church has bargained for the building, promising the owner eight-hundred dollars for the building and an acre of ground. They have already made one payment of one hundred dollars. The building is finely located on an eminence in the suburbs of the town, and is comfortable and commodious. It was originally built for a school house, and by enlarging will make a good house of worship for the congregation above mentioned. The materials for the enlargement, the congregation has already purchased. I arranged to pay the rent to the Board of Trustees as soon as the building
