Sub. Dist of Demopolis. B R F & A L.
Demopolis Ala. March 5th 1868
Respectfully returned to H M Bush Supt of Education Montgomery Ala. with the following statement. I am personally acquainted with Mr C L Drake, and the statement made on the within I believe to be correct. Since October 1867 they have not received more than sufficient means to defray their expenses. The health of Mrs Drake is materially impaired. They will return this fall but not as teachers unless the remuneration can be greater, under the present circumstances I would respectfully recommend that Mr. Drakes request be granted
