It further appears from the records that on July 25th 1867 a communication (copy thereof and retained school report enclosed) was sent to Supt of Education. but the Records do not show that an answer thereto was received. Bureau &c Greenville Ala June 30th 1868 Respectfully returned to Mr R D Harper Supt of Education with the information that E S Grover who is now in charge of col'd schools at this place, was engaged by Capt Buckley. Supt Education to teach a col'd school at Calhoun last year and taught during the month of August as claimed.
