Edwin Beecher with recommendation that an inspection of the property be ordered & if found as reported that it be put in readiness for school purposes. Yours truly R.D. Oct 10. 1868 Respectfully referred to D. R.D. Harper Supt. of Education. Edwin Beecher Asst Comr. Office Supt. Education Montgomery Ala. Oct 15th 1868 Cap. Augustus Pope having superintended the erection of the "Swayne School Building" during the months of July August & September; and having performed this service well & in addition to the ordinary duties of his Clerkship, is entitled in my judgment to 59 Supt. Education some additional compensation. I would, therefore, respectfully recommend that he be allowed the sum of $150.00 for said extra services. Respectfully R.D. Harper Supt. of Education K.7. 95.
