Dear Sir

Today I have rec. a copy of the circular issued in your name with reference to the Freedmen's and other schools. The arrangement to cooperate with the Bureau and the missionary societies seems very satisfactory indeed. I wish to write and make some enquiries. Is it possible you may have heard my name as I taught last year in Lowdnes Co. and in the Spring in Hayneville. I have very much desired to return, as I found the work encouraging, and feel that it is second to none in importance.
