Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 21" instant in reference to plan for School building. 

I have consulted with Prof John Silsby, Agent of the "American Missionary Association" at this place upon the subject, and have concluded upon a plan and specifications, which, slightly modified, is thought to be suitable for the proposed "Selma School building".

I respectfully ask if you desire me to engage the services of an architect in this city to prepare the plan.  If not I would suggest that transportation be furnished Prof. Silsby, from Selma to Montgomery and return, for the purpose of perfecting the plan and arrangements for commencing the building.
