Capt. H.M. Bush
Supt. School Buildings
Montgomery, Ala.

Dear Sir;
I have respectfully to ask for permission to make certain changes in the construction of one School House at this place, which shall not interfere with the general plan of the building while adding to its strength.

There is not sufficient support for the roof according to the plan furnished, and the Supt. I have engaged will not undertake to build it unless he be allowed to put in a truss for support of roof. This will not increase the expence, if we can be allowed to raise the ceiling of the second story, and change the ventilators from the frieze to under the eaves. It is believed that this plan of ventilation with the proposed ventilator in the top of the roof, will be quite as good as that in the plan furnished. This will heighten the walls of the large room in the upper story, adding to its appearance

Yours Very Respectfully
Chas C Bartlett
Sub Asst. Comm'r.
