Rev R.D. Harper
State Supt. of Ed. Montgomery Ala.

My Dear Bro.
We had for a time three more Teachers at Montgomery and should have endeavored to have kept [[strikethrough]] up [[/strikethrough]] the number up to that point had the number of pupils been sufficient to justify it. From experience we are satisfied that there should be a vacation during July, Aug, & Sep, except for a few pupils who are more advanced. We should therefor be departing from our policy, as settled by our experience, to send more Teachers to the field at this season of the year. Your suggestions as to the occupation of certain portions of the field exclusively we accept. We are ready to cooperate fully with you the coming year and to fully supply the principal places we hold. We are hoping to get the buildings at Selma & Montgomery, so that Talladega, Mobile & those two places shall be in every respect satisfactorily provided for next year. We will do whatever more we are able to do.

I enclose the List of Teachers in Ala. which I find by mistake were not forwarded earlier according to my order. Most Truly Yours E.M. Cravath.
