A Comm Selma, with the remark, If evidence is furnished that Mrs Butler was duly commissioned by any association as teacher of Freedmen & was so recognized by the Officess in charge of the Bureau at Selma at the time specified we will endevor to secure the payment of her claim R.D. It further appears from Recorder that on Ju,y 25th 1867 a communication [Copy thereof and retained Schoolreports embraced] was sent to Supt. of Education, but the Record do not show that an answer thereto was received.
