Rev. R. D. Harper.
Supt. Ed. &c. Montgomery Ala.

Dear Sir
I can now answer your favor of the 1st inst only in part. The terms proposed by the Trustees are reasonable and as soon as possible I will give definite propositions relative to Montgomery. There are several questions pending which virtually affect our next years work & our plans cannot be fully laid yet. Relation to teachers I wish to say in general we cannot now give positive answers for next year. Of course preference must be given to those of our former teachers who wish to return & to teachers who are supported by churches. We shall send just as many others as we can possibly support.

Most Truly Yours
E. M. Cravath Secy.
