Sir I write this short epistle to you to inform you the condition of things up here. in regards to the day school. There is something very unpleasant to me After I had got nearly all the schools you required for me to get. A white gentleman came here he said to take charge of the School. After I had done made arrangements for the House. He said you sent him Mr Harper in your addres to the conference you said we must have Teachers of our own color. That move me to go in it again. You know I told you. I did not to get in the way - you said the Gentleman that called on you wanted me to teach you said in the conference that you [[strikethrough]] is [[/strikethrough]] were for the colored people. So please write me word what to do. I have started to Raise monies to Buy ground for the School House. But now I do not know what to do Please let me know  yours, Solomen Derry
