There has been no conflict between Rev Mr Atwater and myself about union springs. I am perfectly willing for Mr Atwater to raise a school in Union Springs. But I am not willing for him to drive me out of my house. After I have rented it according to your orders. I have gone to the trouble & bought seats & put in it & made up the number of Scholars you required & promised to pay rent for. You said I did not write to you. You told me to report to Eufaula that I have done. You promised to do all you could for me. I thought it would be time enough after a while for me to state to you how my school were getting on.
