Rev. R.D. Harper, D.D.,
Supt of Education, B.R.F.& A.L.,

Dear Sir,

The Freedmens Aid Commission of W Pa, E. Ohio, & W.Va., have transferred their work and property to this Committee, as named above. Your circular, addressed to Mr. Travelli, has been forwarded to me. I inclose a printed circular that we are now issuing to all our churches. We propose to enlist our whole chh - the N.S. branch - in this great work. I am prepared to employ teachers in your State on the terms specified in your circular. You say that you can furnish as many teachers as may be desired. Be so good, as to send me a schedule of localities with school houses, and of teachers who can furnish the required testimonials of character & capacity, - and, if they are suitable persons, we will give them commissions on the terms of your circular- Or if you have not the teachers, and will give us the localities, we will send teachers as soon as we can obtain them from our own churches.
