Oct 3rd. /68
Deansville, Oneida Co. N.Y.

To the Supt. of Education, Ala.,

Having been sick, I have delayed answering yours of Aug 19th, in reply to mine of Aug 10th, which surprised me by the statement that there is nothing in the records to show that I was teaching in Sept 1867. Although no report was sent me to fill for either that month or Aug. or Oct. & the Principal Mr. P. M. Gilbert was away during most of this time. Enclosed is a letter from Mr. Buckley & if further proof is necessary it can be had by referring to Mr. H. Black or C.L. Johnson of Union Spring, Ala. Yours Truly L.M. Peck
