Colonel:-
On last Saturday an acre of ground in this city, well located for a Freedmen's School, was purchased for that purpose by Dr. Rust of Cincinnati. I am now awaiting the arrival from Montgomery of [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] a plan of the building desired to be erected.  It is too late in the season to burn a kiln of brick. Brick will cost ten dollars per thousand; lumber, twenty dollars per thousand feet; shingles, five 50/100 per thousand; 

Upon receipt of the plan, I shall begin the work, and push it to completion without delay.
