Colonel:-
It occurs to me to state that this Bureau has been holding possession of the Sulzner building at Athens, for school purposes, since the 1st of July last, without any benefit to freed children. At the close of the school term in June last, it was understood that at the expiration of two months, viz. about the 1st of Sept. the teachers would return and resume operations; and at the request of the principal teacher I applied for, and obtained authority to retain the building as a "storeroom" during the two months vacation. But four months have passed, and no teachers have made their appearance, and neither the Agent at Athens nor myself have any information as to the intentions of the teachers, or of the Society which employs them. In view of these facts, I have the honor to inquire, if it would not be best for me to drop the building on my rolls,
