Colonel,
In compliance with a communication, dated "State of Alabama, Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, Office Supt. of Education, Montgomery, Ala. December 16th, 1868", I have the honor to transmit herewith special report of schools, as per instructions.

The school at this place has not as yet commenced, but I have rented the building formerly occupied by the Bureau, as a Freedmens Hosp'l. and owned by Mrs. Margaret E Patterson, for school purposes, at $30.00 per month, and expect the principal, Miss M. Hindman, to commence operations about the 14th of January.
