partitions of such a building can be put up for from $3600 to $3800 and that the remaining materials and work (excepting the plastering & painting) will cost about $2600, making the entire cost, excepting as above, some $6200 or $6400.

I think that with the $4000 appropriated by Gen Swayne, the $1000 promised by the A M Association, the help promised by the City Council and Contributions by the Colored people and other friends we might venture upon such a building.  The form of the building is simple, and yet convenient. The proportions are good and conform to economical principles and the building would be of permanent value. Moreover the rooms would be airy; which is important for this climate - three sides of each room being connected with "out of doors". I will, however, forward you the plan and specifications when they are completed.
