I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of Oct. 9", and to say that the portion relating to the condition of the College Building has been referred to the Am. Miss. Asso., which will undoubtedly take action in the matter.
In reference to the "second particular," I am instructed to reply that at present the Commissioner is not prepared for any step on the subject; plans not being matured. The General hears with pleasure of the success of your Bill in the Alabama Legislature, and send you the assurance of his personal regard and confidence.
