Rev. R.D. Harper, D.D.
Supt. Education.

Dear Sir, -
In reply to your letter through H.M. Bush, in reference to the bond sent here by the Agent of the A.M.A. at Selma, I have the honor to say that the bond was not approved. The reasons were set forth in a communication to Rev. Geo. Whipple, July 2d, 1868, and at the same time another form of bond was forwarded and recommended to the A.M.A. for adoption. The subject has not come up again at these headquarters.

Very respectfully
Your obt. servant
J. Willard Saxton,
Chief Clerk S.D.
