Dear Sir

I respectfully submit that I was engaged in teaching the Mesopotamia free Colored School from the 1st February, to the 30th of July 1867, having under my instruction from 45 to 54 pupils, a day.

The first three vouchers, for the months of Feb, March, and Aprile, ware sent to me by Rev Mr Hill, and returned to you by mail.

On the 10th June you sent me two vouchers, for May and June, accompanied with a draft in my favor for $50 dollars, in payment of my services for the month of April. This was the first money I received. About the end of Julay, you enclosed me another draft for $50 dollars, in payment of my services, for the month of May; and vouchers was sent me by Rev Mr Hill for Julay and duly returned to you through the mail.

From this statement you will perceive that I have rendered six months service, and have recd.
