[[stamp]] The National Archives of the United States [[/stamp]] Sub-District of Eufaula, Bureau, Refugees, Freedmen & Abandoned Lands. Eufaula, Ala., August 18 1868 Mr. H. H. Bush Agent in charge of Building Bureau R.F & AL. Montgomery Ala. Sir; The freedmen of Eufaula are engaged the present season in erecting themselves houses of worship, and in consequence are so heavily taxed thereby that they are quite unable to assist in labor towards the erection of the school building. I am making all necessary preparations for the immediate construction of the house. Application will be made to day for an increased appropriation of One Thousand Dollars for the building, rendered necessary by the advance in the price of lumber as well as for the necessity of building a larger house than was at first deemed sufficient. over
