Sub-District of Mobile,
Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
Mobile, Ala., 1868.

Report which are of a general character. I am sorry to see that the answers to these questions were omitted, or not correctly answered, when the Report was handed to me by my Clerk for my signature. I was sick in Bed with "Chills & Fever" and failed to examine it, as I should have done. In addition to the two schools reported in detail, I have noted all the schools for Freedmen that are in operation in this City, two of which are under the control of Dr Coals and his Board, the other is an independent school, and taught by a very intelligent Mulatto girl.

Please advise me, if as corrected and altered, the Report is satisfactory, as a guide for the future.

I am Sir
very Respectfully
