the [[strikethrough]] ir [[/strikethrough]] alphabet, have 13 of this No, in words of 4 Syllables-- 16, in 3, words, 18 in 2, & the rest in one Syllable. Four Scholars are in the 5th reader, 10 in the 4th, 7 in the 3rd, 12 in the 2nd, and 14 in the 1st Reader. 

Have 4 in Geography, 4 in Arithmetic (3d part Reg's) I am in the school-room from 7 oc AM until 5 1/2 PM, with an intermission of 2 hours. I attend & Superintend the SS, have now, some 20 persons who can read the Bible. As all in the school cannot take a part, I have studied a plan where-in I can make my labors More Efficient, & good imparted to all. I never introduce an exercise except those in which all may take a part, & there I see that all engage in it; this, I think is the only way universal attention can be secured.

I recd a letter from Mrs Talcott (Asst. Sec. F.A.C.) in which she says, the commission does not think it advisable to send any more teachers South this season, & advises me
