I have the honor to make the following statement and inquiry.
Allen Williams (cold) has been teaching freed children nearly a year in town. Several months since, not being able to procure a room, he built a Log House and is now teaching colored children in it - The House cost about sixty dollars ($60.) and owing to the security of money among Williams' pupils, he is not able to pay for it - I think he is worthy and ought to be encouraged with a little money - from month to month for his house room if not for services as School Teacher,
