Dear Sir,
In reply to your letter of 10" inst., asking for Certificates of Transportation, I have the honor to say that I have forwarded thirty copies to your address.

In reference to the blanks which you obtained and distributed, Rev. J.W. Alvord, Inspector of Schools, says there is no objection to their being used if all points can be covered contained in the Report to be forwarded to this office. It is important that all the data forwarded to us should be uniform, and complete as possible; and the form which you have adopted, though covering much of the same ground, does not include many things Gen. Howard is desirous of being reported. He does not care how much more is added, but he is particular to have all the questions answered as fully as may be, in the blank adopted by
