Dear Sir,
It gives me pleasure to report that Mr. Allen Williams has concluded to accept of your proposition, & will go to Carrolton - the shire town of Pickens County or to some other of the neighboring towns, about the 1st of April. He is teaching this month; but inasmuch as it was against my wish, & I notified him his pay would cease, I hope he will have no remittance from you this month - nor does he expect it.

The increase of my school has been such as to enable me to give Mr. Heart 47 scholars & to keep 40 myself.

I desire another teacher to be here by the 1st of April without fail. Permit me to suggest it be a lady teacher because 1. the new school will be a primary one; 2. a lady will be better contented & more patient with the little ones than will a gentleman. & one, too, of experience in teaching
