Mr. Silsby will personally superintend the building of the new house at Selma. For Montgomery & Marion we hope to be able to provide the requisite funds before the 1st of June. The hard time affect our receipts, and we are compelled to proceed cautiously. Mobile is the only part of the state under the charge of the Chicago office and Sec. Shipherd will look after that point. Had we a definite room that could at once be put at the disposal of an Agent for Alabama we should be glad to put one there with plenipotentiary power and push the work of school house building forward at all points vigorously. We will do the best that we can to do the work you have laid out for us in Ala. Should you require the services of Mr. Silsby in receiving the consent of the trustees and getting the definite offer of the Talladega property he can be [[?]] at your pleasure. As soon as notified that the purchase can be immediately made & has been made I will probably in person attend to the matter & can settle all the details with you.
