Normal school enterprise as soon as the property is received. I have been expecting the papers would be prepared according to the arrangement with Gen. Swayne so that we could have had possession of the property before this.
At Selma if suitable buildings can be secured we preposed to send a full corps of teachers and do a thorough work. With the buildings used last year it is hardly worth while to send teachers. I shall want further information before assigning a corps of teachers there. Mobile will be thoroughly provided for; It has not been assigned to my field. You will receive information respecting this from the office at N.Y.
For the smaller places I cannot now give answers farther than this. We shall supply as many places as we can where only the Salary or [[?]]s is required from us. For the teacher in the state now under our commission, we will provide by gathering them at their principal points in cases where the moni [[money]] support cannot be obtained from the rebuals [[rebels]].
Most Truly & Fraternaly Yours
E. M. Cravath
Secretary.
