Dear Bro.
My answer to your communication relative to the appointment of Mr. Sears as Superintendent of schools at Selma has been delayed, hoping that an answer might be received from Mr. Sears, to a letter on the same subject written some time ago. In that letter I asked some questions which I wished answered in order to decide the question for the coming year. No word has been received from Mr. Sears as yet. There should be unity given to the work at Selma. The plan you propose seems a good one. As soon as I hear from Mr. Sears and get a better knowledge of what can and what ought to be done for Selma I can decide the case. The failure of Mr. Chere to get to Ala. was unfortunate. We must make the best of the time now to get this work in good shape at this important point. The girls I hear richest devotion safely having reached is un-necessary.
Most truly yours,
E. M. Cravath Secretary
